the Tinkle & Toot approach to Potty Training
I like to think my interest in potty training started from all the fart jokes I heard as a kid.
Growing up, my family dinners were loud. But, nothing could silence the room quite like my grandpa’s fart machine. *Cue the laughter.*
Now, I try to bring that same playful energy into my family life - and into your family life, too!
The Tinkle & Toot approach puts fun first!
We believe that your child is going to have the most success with potty training by incorporating their strengths, skills, and interests!
You can continue to foster a positive relationship with your little one, even during the challenges that may come up during potty training.
Head into potty training feeling confident!
Tackle potty training curveballs along the way!

My own in the early-1990s HAH!
My first experience as a potty-trainer was in 2010. I helped potty train a little girl with autism :)

TBH, it makes me giggle that I get to talk about poop all day long.
But also, I know how it feels to be SO STRESSED about a parenting experience. I want nothing more than to help another parent kick the nerves and feel confident that they *can*teach their little one this big new skill.
Potty training can set the stage for so many other parenting experiences!

It can be challenging at times to figure out why a child is having trouble learning to use the potty. But, I live for challenges. (Seriously, don’t tell me I can’t do something. I’ll figure it out.)
Although it’s hard, I love asking ALL the questions to get to the bottom of a potty training issue so I can help parents get to the solution.

Silly with a side of serious. Passionate. Innovative. Steadfast.

I have 4 kids BUT I did not potty train my 2 older kids - I didn’t know them then! (I adopted them through step-parent adoption when they were in elementary school.)
My younger daughter was potty trained at 20 months and my littlest guy was potty trained shortly after he turned 2.
And, YES, we have our share of potty training hiccups. My kids are only human, after all!
-
I wish I was exaggerating but I feel like I have heard or seen just about everything under the sun when it comes to potty training. It’s hard to pick a “funniest” but I always chuckle when parents tell me their kid will only go potty outside. I also get asked far too often if it’s okay to tell me about their child’s poop consistency. YES, please do!

Long walks on the beach. Kidding, who has time for that?
I enjoy a sweaty & strenuous workout.
My love language is words of affirmation.
If you can make me laugh, we’ll be friends!
